During this crazy time of the COVID-19 Pandemic and Social Distancing regulations you are probably spending more time with your family, whether in-person or via Facetime and Zoom.

Take advantage of the time you are with family and loved ones to share your wishes regarding medical care. 

What is important to you?

If you become incapacitated and are unable to make decisions for yourself, who do you want to make them for you?

Have you shared your wishes with that individual?

Would you want to be placed on a ventilator?

Would you want a feeding tube?

Communicate your wishes with your loved ones, and then put it in writing with a Medical Power of Attorney and Living Will.

Tax day is April 15th, so April 16th seemed to be the natural choice for the day to focus on making your own healthcare decisions!

National Healthcare Decision Day (NHDD) is an opportunity to give yourself a deadline to chose someone to make healthcare decisions for you in the event you are unable, and to get your wishes down and paper. 

This can seem a daunting task if you have never thought about it before, but there are some easy resources out there to help you!
